Rhonda Van Soelen

Administrative Assistant / Coach

Rhonda (Gosselink) Van Soelen was born in Pella, Iowa, to John and Donna Gosselink on May 2, 1960. She grew up on a farm five miles north of Pella with her three siblings, John, Laura, and Steve. She attended Pella Christian High School where she graduated with honors, was chosen as class speaker, and was recognized for her academic achievements by an induction into “Who’s Who Among American High School Students.” Following graduation, Rhonda felt called to serve on S.W.I.M. (Summer Workshop in Ministry) in Grand Rapids, MI, for six weeks while preparing for her anticipated freshman year in college. It was during this time in Michigan that she discovered God had an entirely different direction for her future. Deeply challenged by her opportunities in women's prison ministry, teaching daily children's Vacation Bible School, sharing a message at the local youth camp, and door-to-door witnessing, she heard God calling her to surrender her six-year preparation for college. Instead, Rhonda embraced God’s plan for her life and was blessed by marriage to a wonderful, godly man, Dave Van Soelen, on March 31, 1979. To this union, four children and five grandchildren were added: Rochelle resides in Norfolk, VA, with her husband, Jared Laskey, along with their four children, Zechariah, Lydia, Malachi, and Isaiah. Danece lives in San Diego, CA, and Ryan is located in Pella. Ashley lives in Stevenson, WA, with her husband, Caleb, and their son, Ryder.

Rhonda has completed various collegiate courses in preparation for ministry and has also completed the Emerging Journey and Equipping Leaders courses at Third Church in Pella, where she and her husband attend and are actively involved.

She works for Matt Van Maanen at Financial Architects, Inc., as his assistant along with responsibilities as the administrative assistant for Main Street Ministries in Pella.

Her passion is people and her heart is helping wherever God calls her.
