Helping Others Progress

Watch Now

"I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith..." Philippians 1:23-25

This passage teaches of the pull Paul had which was to depart and be with Christ. His relationship was so real that his reality was living with Christ each day. His purpose was to remain here to be of service to those around him. Even though his heart was aching to go home he realized it was better for him to stay here.

Another “wow” passage. Do we ever spend time focusing on our eternal home and all that is waiting for us? If we did we too would long to be there, and we would have a desire and a pull in our heart to go be with Christ. We are not home here, and when we make it our home we may be missing the point. The point of our life here is to be in service for Christ by preparing others for their eternal home. When we realize that our call and purpose is to serve Christ, life comes more into focus. It no longer becomes about me which leads us down a road of despair but leads us to the higher road.

It is necessary that we remain where we are to serve others. We must remain in the moments that God gives us here and realize the ways we can step into the lives of others. Even in the workplace we are to remain in our faith and see our work as a place where we can be fruitful in Christ. It is no longer about what we can gain but who we can pour His love into daily.  Our purpose then becomes a much greater vision.  Be still in the daily moments and realize that we are here to pour into the lives of others. Helping others to progress in their faith is our ultimate call as faith leaders.

Today in the workplace:

Who can you pour into today?
